Calendar Integration

Turn Outlook calendar events into time entry suggestions with Dime.Sheets calendar integration.

Calendar Integration

Dime.Sheets can read your Microsoft Outlook calendar and surface meetings as pre-filled time entry suggestions. Instead of manually recreating entries for meetings you already attended, accept a suggestion with one click.

How it works

When you open the Track page, Dime.Sheets checks your connected calendar and displays upcoming or recent events as suggestion cards. Each card shows the meeting subject, time, and calculated duration. Click Accept to create a time entry with the details pre-populated.

What gets suggested

Dime.Sheets filters calendar events to show only relevant meetings:

  • Cancelled events are excluded.
  • All-day events are excluded (these are typically holidays or reminders, not trackable work).
  • Very short events (under 15 minutes) are excluded.
  • Durations are rounded to the nearest quarter hour for clean time entries.

Connecting your calendar

Calendar integration uses your organization's Azure AD sign-in. The Calendars.Read permission scope is requested during login. No additional setup is required if your organization allows this scope.

Checking connection status

On the Track page, the calendar suggestions section shows your connection status. If your calendar is not connected, you will see a prompt to sign in with the required permissions.

Accepting suggestions

When you accept a calendar suggestion:

  1. A new time entry is created with the meeting subject as the description.
  2. The duration is calculated from the event start and end times, rounded to the nearest quarter hour.
  3. The date is set to the event date.
  4. You can edit the project, task, and other fields before saving, or save and edit later.

Privacy

Dime.Sheets only reads event subjects, start times, end times, and status. It does not read event bodies, attendee lists, or attachments. Calendar data is not stored — events are fetched on demand when you view the Track page.
